There is no silicone vinyl available although it is called like that. But that doesn t mean that silicone babies cannot look real as there are some magnificent pieces out there. Silicone babies that are full body all one piece made from the same slab of silicone can be submerged in water. The problem is that the silicone leaches out from the vinyl over time and this can cause the paint to literally flake off from the doll.

Platinum 20 ecoflex is a common grade for lifelike dolls. Flextouch vinyl is also much more durable against rips and tears than silicone and doesn t require powdering because it is still soft to the touch like gentletouch vinyl.
