Wemo Maker Garage Door Sensor

Seeing most garage doors have terminals on them to connect up a push button switch it is pretty easy to connect up a smart device that can trigger the door when we did this the only option in our region was using a wemo maker.

There was already a 120v wall outlet and all the items needed to keep the wemo maker in a climate controlled environment. The switch is actually triggered when the door is closed. Speaker wire 21 42. A while back a mate asked me to connect his garage door to his phone.

The magnetic sensor and speaker wire are optional. I ran both the magnetic door sensor wiring added the 22 2 wiring for length as well as a cat5 cable i had connected to the garage door opener ports red white on the garage door to my master closet. The wemo alerts will appear on the lock screen. All day daily keep in mind this may be somewhat counter intuitive for those unfamiliar to normally closed switches. I use ifff to pair the maker with my wemo light switch so i can use a long press on the switch to open my garage door.

It works excellent for that and the setup is very straight forward.
